Conestogo was awarded this project in the 2020 just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although slightly delayed in the start, the facility was deemed essential and work continued in the sporing of 2020 and completed in the fall of 2021. The project consisted of three phases which included renovations to existing aquatic centre washrooms and change rooms, concessions, main entrance and gathering/meeting areas. Other phases included the addition of a pavilion and bridge and the civic front addition. Extensive plumbing renovations and plumbing installations were required for washrooms, change rooms and showers. The civic front included a new ventilation system with hydronic heating and DX cooling. The pavilion also received its own plant including ventilation, boiler and chiller plants. Extensive refurbishments were performed on all existing air handling units.
